Hugby
Hugby is a teddy bear football game for 2 players where you draw your own plays, presented in a magnificent, custom cocktail table arcade cabinet with a 32-inch touchscreen.

Gameplay happens in three phases:
1) Set bear positions
2) Take turns tracing routes for all bears (no peeking during your opponent's turn!)
3) Run the play
Hugby offers intuitive pick-up-and-play gameplay, adorable graphics, and a surprising depth of strategy and replayability.

This project is a collaboration with indie cabinet maker Brandon Weiss, aka Arcombi. Brandon handled the design and build of the cabinet, while I did all the design, art, and programming for the game. Brandon and I connected through the excellent organization Philly Game Mechanics.
Hugby was selected for and made its debut at the MAGFest Indie Arcade in January 2026.

You can buy a Hugby shirt on my Etsy shop!! Here's my cousin Rob wearing one, he's the man!
